Sale of Prices Road Vineyard

Langley & Co Advisors is proud to have advised Accolade Wines on the successful sale of the Prices Road Vineyard in the Upper Yarra Valley, near Gladysdale in Victoria.

Better known as ‘Bastard Hill’ this is a truly distinguished site, planted to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir by renowned viticulturist Ray Guerin in 1986 during his tenure with Thomas Hardy & Sons (now Accolade Wines). At an altitude of 400m at the top of the vineyard and close to 300m at the bottom, the vineyard was selected because it replicated many of the great sites in Burgundy – high altitude, steep slopes, leaner and thinner soils, hence less vigour.

This sale is another reminder of the growing international recognition of Australia’s distinguished cool-climate sites and the confidence that international fine wine producers see in the future of our premium wines.

Congratulations to Giant Steps (Jackson Family Wines) on the acquisition adding to their growing portfolio of renowned sites in the Yarra Valley.
